Power restored in Washington County – Cause of outage under investigation

August 8, 2018 – Washington Co., WI – About 8,700 households across Washington County lost power Wednesday evening Aug. 8.

Neighbors in Hartford, Slinger, Allenton, Jackson and West Bend reported power outs around 7:15 p.m.

Outages were also reported in neighboring Dodge County in Mayville, Rubicon, and Iron Ridge.

Washington County Sheriff Dale Schmidt said the 9-11 system was working during the outage.

According to Schmidt: Power outages were reported in the Hwy 60 corridor; generally from from the east county ine to Hartford.

We Energies said power was restored around 8:19 p.m.

All power was expected to be restored by 9 p.m.

Amy Jahns with We Energies said the problem was actually sourced to American Transmission Company in Pewaukee.

Calls have been placed to ATC and we will bring you more information when it becomes available.
