The announcement was made today by Rep. Dan Knodl (R – Germantown).
The plan will provide $340 million in tax relief through an increase to the standard deduction.
Income earners between $30,000 – $100,000 will see 75% of the overall tax savings and married joint filers earning between $30,000-$40,000 will see their state income taxes cut nearly in half.
The total plan will impact those married filing jointly earning up to $150,000.
This will be paid for by using the nearly $600 million GOP surplus.
“We are hopeful Governor Evers will deliver on one of his campaign promises and sign our proposal,” said Knodl.
