On July 28, 1965 Ron Naab was headed to the old Allenton Fire Station on Main street to attend his first training. But before the training really got underway the siren on top the station sounded and Ron was off to his first barn fire. By the time he got back the next morning Ron was hooked… for the next 50 years.
Saturday night at the Allenton Fire Department’s annual awards banquet Chief John Breuer presented Ron with a plaque acknowledging him with his 50 years of service. Pictured with Ron and Chief Breuer are Ron’s wife Ann and daughter Pam. The Badger Firefighters Association also presented Ron with an award for his fifty years of service. Ron currently serves as the president of that association.
Each year at the annual awards banquet one member is acknowledged who demonstrates the high standard to the fire and EMS service that was fires exemplified by the late Allenton Fire Chief George Moser.

The 2015 recipient is Lt. Kim Mayer who carries on the outstanding tradition that George started so many years before when he selflessly entered a confined space to rescue a young man who was overcome by a oxygen deprived atmosphere.
Pictured with Kim and Chief Breuer are selection committee members Captain Eric Wolf and Deputy Chief of EMS Susan Wolf. — with Eric Wolf, Kim Mayer and Susan Wolf.
