Jan. 15, 2017 – Township of Fox Lake – A 31-year-old man from Lodi was seriously injured following a snowmobile crash Sunday morning on Fox Lake. The Dodge County Sheriff said the accident happened at 7:24 a.m. near the Blackhawk Trail Boat Landing, W10953 Blackhawk Trail in the Township of Fox Lake.
The snowmobile operator, identified as Cory Chase, had just left the boat launch and a short time later, attempted a turn, and lost control. This caused the snowmobile to roll over and the operator was ejected from the snowmobile. The operator was not wearing a helmet.
A friend on scene witnessed the crash and immediately called 911. Chase suffered serious injuries and was taken by Flight for Life to UW Hospital. Alcohol was not a factor in this crash.
Assisting at the scene were Fox Lake Fire Department, Fox Lake EMS, Beaver Dam Paramedics, Med Flight, and WI DNR. The crash is being investigated by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and the WI DNR.
