Team effort pushes UW-WC to 15 – 5 on the season following solid win over UW-Manitowoc. By Stephen Murphy

Jan. 31, 2017 – West Bend, WI – The UW-Washington County mens basketball team improved to 15 – 5 on the season following an 81-61 win at UW-Manitowoc on Monday.

The Wildcats jumped out to a 21-5 lead thanks in part to Kewaskum native Charlie Witek.  The Marian University transfer scored 13 points and pulled down 9 rebounds, had 2 blocked shots and 2 steals in only 17 minutes of action.

Dre Johnson scored 15 points and added 7 rebounds.  Evan Rathke scored 14 with 5 assists and a pair of steals.  Randy Howard had 9 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals.

Shaun Fischer scored 8 with 7 rebounds.  Javon Williams had 6 rebounds.  Derrick Chaney scored 8 with 4 rebounds.

Miles Perkins added 5 rebounds for the Wildcats who posted a 61-44 rebounding advantage in the game.

All 13 Wildcats played well and each player managed to attempt shots in the game.

The next game is Wednesday, Feb. 1 at UW-Waukesha. Tip off is at 7:30 p.m.
