Feb. 3, 2017 – The UW-Washington County mens basketball team fell behind early but came on strong for a 80-71 win at Appleton’s Fox Valley Tech.
Evan Rathke scored 21 with 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 blocked shots.
Dre Johnson scored 16 and had 8 rebounds. Randy Howard worked third shift the night before the game, but managed his first double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Shaun Fischer had 8 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 blocked shots. Derrick Chaney continued his high shooting percentage hitting 4 of 5 with 9 points. Aaron Rathke added 7 points and 6 rebounds.
The Wildcats were out-rebounded 54-49, and only scored 12 points in the paint, but the Wildcats press forced 20 turnovers by the Foxes.
FVT’s star power forward Joe Scheithhauer was nearly unstoppable as he hauled in 22 rebounds to go with a 20-point performance.
