Nov. 7, 2016 – Slinger, WI – Addison Elementary School in Slinger had a Veteran’s Day Assembly on Friday.  This is a picture of all of the veterans in attendance including two from World War II.
Joe Reinders is a 91-year-old WWII vet. He was the Honor Guard Captain of the Allenton American Legion Honor Guard for 70 years.  He is the great grandfather of Wyatt, Brock and Grant Merten who attend Addison Elementary,
Howard Knox is a 97-year-old WWII vet who served in the Navy.  He was Wisconsin’s first boy scout. During our ceremony, he gave the history of the song “Taps” and played it on his bugle.  It was so touching as all of the veterans in stood as he played.
