VIDEO | Edward Stuesser, 95, recalls his first assignment at the Richfield Fire Department. You won’t believe what they asked him to do.

March 6, 2017 – Richfield, WI – Nearly 100 people turned out Sunday for the move-in day at the new Richfield Fire Department on Hubertus Road. There was a parade from the old fire house on Highway 164, past St. Gabriel Church and then onto the new digs.

There was some pomp and circumstance, a blessing and raising of the flag. Photos, a ribbon cutting and cake.

One special moment occurred when 95-year-old Edward Stuesser was reunited with the Fire Department’s 1927 Studebaker.

Stuesser lived up the road from the fire house  when he was just a young whippersnapper of 15. He participated in ladder drills and hooking up hoses. When he turned 16 he got his first assignment from the chief.
