VIDEO | High-risk traffic stop in West Bend on Tuesday night

July 26, 2017 – West Bend, WI – West Bend police did some excellent work on Tuesday evening during a high-risk traffic stop.

Authorities said at 9:35 p.m. a West Bend Officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.

The driver, a 32-year-old Milwaukee man, turned over a bag of marijuana and drove away after being asked to step out of the vehicle.

Officers pursued the vehicle and stopped it a second time on Maple Street just west of Fifth Avenue.

During the pursuit, drugs and a firearm were discarded from inside the vehicle.

The driver was found to be impaired by alcohol and arrested for OWI-1st Offense, Eluding, Felony Possession Of Marijuana, Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Felon In Possession Of A Firearm, Armed While Intoxicated, and Possession Of A Controlled Substance With Intent To Deliver.

The video shows a woman being asked to step out of the vehicle with her hands up.  Police said the woman was taken to the police station but she was not charged.
