VIDEO | Teresa Hall’s vehicle got totaled in the snowy accident mess on I41. “I had the grill of the dump truck right here.” By Ruth Marks

March 13, 2017 – Richfield, WI – Teresa Hall feels lucky to be alive. “My car was smooshed,” said Hall as she waited for a ride at Slinger High School.

Hall was headed home to Michigan on Monday morning on I41 in Washington County when her vehicle was involved in a wreck.

The accident started a ways ahead of Hall with a jackknifed semi.

“I was sideways in the median and then a construction-type vehicle hit my hood,” she said. “Then a dump truck missed me but I had the grill of the dump truck just right there.”

Hall motioned with her hand, holding it within a foot of her face.

Rescue crews worked with motorists and bused them to safe places including Pioneer Plaza and Slinger High School while they worked to clear the Interstate.

Hall’s brother in law was coming to pick her up at the school.

Administrators at Slinger High School made everyone as comfortable as possible.

The Washington County Highway Department had a full fleet of drivers working to clear the roads. County patrol superintendent Tom Schmidt said he’s been with the county for 24 years and the challenge with today’s storm was how fast the snow came in since 9 p.m. on Sunday.

While there were dozens of accidents across the county, there were no reports of any fatalities.
