Washington County assists in ending 120 mph high-speed chase

Sept. 20, 2017 – Washington Co., WI – On Wednesday morning at 2:19 a.m. the City of Fond du Lac Police Department and the Fond du Lac Sheriff’s Office contacted the Washington County Sheriff’s communications center regarding a possible car-jacking suspect southbound on I41 from STH 23.

Shortly thereafter Fond du Lac Sheriff advised they were pursuing the vehicle southbound towards Washington County at speeds in excess of 120 mph and were requesting assistance to deploy a tire deflation device.

Washington County Deputies were able to successfully deploy the device in the area of STH 33. The driver continued until he crashed as he exited at the STH 60 off-ramp.

The male driver, who ended up being a 15 years old, attempted to flee on foot and was taken into custody by law enforcement. Washington County Deputies did not actively take part in the actual pursuit as several law enforcement agencies were already engaged in the incident.
