Our first measurable snow this winter (since winter 2015 kicked off Dec. 22) and the Washington County Sheriff said roads are snow covered and slippery. The wind is causing quite a bit of blowing and drifting.
Washington County Sheriff’s said since 1:30 p.m. they’ve had 11 vehicles in the ditch, six crashes and one accident with injuries.
Washington County has all 20 plows and salters on the road.
“We just added another truck onto USH 45 to do the ramps to keep the other trucks on the mainline of 45 for the ride home,” said County Highway Commissioner Scott Schmidt. “I-41 had this from the start of the storm. A full crew will be on the road through the ride home.”
Authorities advise motorists drive with caution.
I have calls out to surrounding cities in Washington County to get an update on road conditions. Stay tuned!
