West Bend City Council approves paperless agenda software

July 11, 2017 – West Bend, WI – This week the West Bend City Council unanimously approved moving to paperless agenda software.

City Clerk Stephanie Justmann took the Council’s requests to dig into the software issue and spent time reviewing four different softwares/companies,  eventually deciding on recommending Accela-IQM2. This software is fully hosted and allows for unlimited users and storage. The final vote was to approve the purchase of that software and tablets for the prices listed below. Chris Jenkins made the motion, seconded by Alderman Mike Chevalier, and passed 7-0 (Ald Williquette was absent).
According to Alderman Chris Jenkins, “Implementing the software will be $8,570 annually, but will be a cost savings compared to the printing and time used currently.”
Though Jenkins says he was originally in favor of “Bring Your Own Devices,” the Council agreed to purchase 10 tablets for the Council and other boards and committees to use at meetings totaling a one-time cost of $3500. Both costs will be out of the Community TV budget.
The portal will also be available for public and media viewing of agenda items.
Jenkins states, “I am very excited to see our City jump into the 21st century, as I had been pushing for this since getting elected to my first term.”
