On July 8, 16, at 4:12 p.m., a 57-year-old West Bend man reported being involved in a verbal altercation with a 33-year-old Kewaskum man inside an area tavern. The two men decided to go out behind the establishment to settle their dispute with a physical altercation. The two did engage in a physical altercation and the 57-year-old man sustained significant injuries as a result. The 57-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct. The 33-year-old man was arrested for substantial battery, disorderly conduct and bail jumping for violating restrictions of bail for an open case he is currently out of jail on.
On July 7, 2016, at 1:34 a.m., an officer observed a motor vehicle leaving the high school parking lot at a fast rate of speed and crossing over the center line. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, a 19-year-old West Bend man, was found to be intoxicated. The officer also observed a bottle of whiskey on the floor behind the driver’s seat. The driver failed the standardized field sobriety tests, blew a .112 in a PBT and was arrested for OWI, open intoxicants in a motor vehicle and unsafe lane deviation.
On July 7, 2016, at 11:58 p.m., a 28-year-old West Bend man reported that his 20-year-old girlfriend took his vehicle two days earlier without his knowledge or permission and had not returned it. An officer later located the 20-year-old West Bend women and the vehicle at the man’s residence. The West Bend woman was arrested for operating a vehicle without the owner’s consent, and the vehicle was returned to the owner.
