  1. I truly enjoyed this story! When I worked at the old museum, the Zinn Dollhouse had it’s own gallery. I used to spend as much ‘downtime” as possible gazing into the private lives of the tiny little family. Shortly before our move to Veterans, two of the granddaughters had come to visit the dollhouse. When they told me their grandmother used to let them play with it all the time, I almost fainted from envy, something I don’t usually possess. They explained how the growth of the dollhouse was a family involvement. Kids, parents and grandparents, sewing, painting, decorating, etc. Trips from all over the world would bring new fabrics and pieces, mostly European. When reading the story of the donation to the university, I got upset with the lack of respect we sometimes have for our past. I cringed at the thought of trashing it… some kid somewhere would have loved that dollhouse! I know I would have……
