Richard C. “Rick” Foster passed away peacefully Sunday, September 4, 2016 at Grafton Hospital in Grafton, WI with his family by his side.
Rick was born on January 11, 1944 to Donald and Margaret Foster in Chicago, IL. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Susan McElroy on March 13, 1965 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Winnetka, IL.
He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1961-1964 before being honorably discharged. For the past 20 years he worked at Broan-NuTone in Hartford, WI.
Rick was a proud grandparent, avid gardener and golfer and a loyal Cubs fan. One of his favorite ways of showing his love for his family was through cooking. He was a wonderful storyteller; his children and grandchildren loved to hear him tell stories about his childhood.
Rick was survived by his beloved wife of 51 years Susan, his daughters Sarah (Mark) Koepke of St. Paul, MN and Rachel Foster of Denver, CO and son Benjamin (Sara) Foster of McFarland, WI; grandchildren Henry, Olivia, Colette, Lydia and Joseph; brother Rory (Kendall) Foster of Louisville, KY and sister Ann (Ray) Glueck of Mountain Home, AR.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A time of gathering for Rick will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union St Hartford, WI) from 11 – 1p.m.
Interment St. Patrick Cemetery, Erin, WI.
