19-year-old Hartford man injured in single-vehicle accident | By Lt. Robert Stuesser

Nov. 27, 2017 – Town of Addison, WI – On November 27, 2017 at 8:56 a.m. the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a single-vehicle crash on CTH W approximately .1 mile south of Crooked Road in the Town of Addison.

Sheriff’s deputies, and members of the Allenton and St. Lawrence Fire Departments, were dispatched to the scene. The Wisconsin State Patrol also responded to assist with traffic control.

Upon arrival, rescue personnel located a severely damaged automobile in the west ditch line of CTH W. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 19-year-old Hartford man, required extrication from the vehicle and was then flown via Flight For Life to Aurora Medical Center in Summit.

An on-scene investigation revealed the following: The crashed vehicle was northbound on CTH W when it veered left and thru the southbound lane of travel. The vehicle left the roadway, entered the west ditch line, and struck a tree.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and the operator was wearing his seatbelt.

After being extricated from the vehicle, the operator was transported via ambulance to a nearby off-road location where Flight For Life had been staged. His injuries are serious but are not believed to be life threatening.

The matter remains under investigation, but driver fatigue and inattentiveness are believed to be contributing factors.

CTH W was closed between CTH S and Crooked Road for approximately 1.5 hours to facilitate rescue and clean up operations.
