Child drowns in Big Cedar Lake | By Washington County Sheriff

July 4, 2019 – Washington Co., WI – On July 4, 2019, at 2:05pm, Washington County Deputies along with Lifestar Rescue and Slinger Fire Department were dispatched to an address in the 4900 block of Birchwood Road, in the Township of West Bend, for a report of 2-year-old male child found unresponsive in Big Cedar Lake.

Lifesaving efforts were attempted on scene, and the child was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend where lifesaving efforts continued.

Ultimately the child never recovered and was pronounced deceased.

The Washington County Detective Bureau and the Washington County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating to determine the cause of death.

Preliminary indications are believed to be that the child drowned.  No further information is being released at this time.
