Day 3 on the MS Run the US | By Tabetha Wolfe

April 18, 2019 – West Bend, WI – Tabetha Wolfe of West Bend is helping bring awareness to multiple sclerosis (MS) via the MS Run the US. “The run is dedicated to raising awareness and funds to support multiple sclerosis (MS) research, while also supporting those living with disability due to MS,” said Wolfe.

On Monday, April 15, Wolfe started Segment 2 of the MS Run the US relay across America. She will be running a marathon a day for eight days (204 miles) from Barstow, CA to Las Vegas, NV.

Below is a story from Wolfe about her third day on the road.  Click HERE to read more about her motivation to take part in MS Run the US.

Day 3✔ another 28 miles down! That’s 84.5 miles in three days.

Today’s adventure started in Siberia, CA. It started out fast, downhillish and I was feeling great. The miles were flying by. I made it to a sign that said the Heart of the Mojave.

I ran through a small desert town called Amboy, which has a gas station (it was $5 per gallon) and a diner that served microwave food 🤣.

After Amboy things got real! 1,250 feet of elevation gain coming my way along with the sun and wind showing no mercy, I was so ready to be done for the day.

But still had 10 miles and a 2-mile cool down to go, all with a head wind!

The crew jumped into action and with some help from Peter I was able to knock it out. They were the miles yet, but I kept reminding myself why I am out in the the middle of the desert running.

There are plenty of people who would love to be here doing this with me but physically cannot and that is why I am out here.

Unfortunately tomorrow, Thursday, April 18 doesn’t get much better but I will keep putting one foot in front of the other. #runningforthosewhocant

For some fun tonight we drove a few miles back to Amboy and visited the Amboy Crater, which is actually a volcano.

I unfortunately did not let the guys walk to the crater…no shade and 3-mile round trip; this girl had enough sun and put enough miles on her feet today 🏃‍♀️😊

Now to prepare for tomorrow by drinking lots of water and going to bed early.

Until tomorrow.

Stay tuned as Tabetha will be filing regular updates about her 204-mile journey. If you want to help support MS click HERE
