Familiar name to take over Grand Larsony Classic Car Show

There’s new life for the annual Grand Larsony Custom Classic Car Show in Kewaskum. Last year Richard ‘Kissey’ Kissinger announced he was stepping down from the event after running it since 2000.

The show, a popular stop for the car clubs, normally drew about 400 classic cars to Main Street in Kewaskum. Over the years Kissey used the car show as entertain and a way raise money to benefit local people in need.

On Sunday, Mark ‘Kurly’ Kissinger of Jackson said he would be taking over.  “My father and I ran a car show in Slinger for a number of years,” said Kissinger.  “I’ve gone to Kissey’s show and I don’t plan on changing anything.”

Kurly Kissinger is Kissey’s godson.  Kissinger’s father Mark is Kissey’s cousin.

“We had been talking off and on the past month about me taking over,” Kurly Kissinger said. “We had a couple meetings and went over everything on Sunday. Obviously my parents and family will be helping and we’ll still be donating money to local families in need.”

The 16th annual Grand Larsony Custom Classic Car Show is normally the third Sunday in September and this year’s show will start 7 a.m. on Sept. 18.
