Hartford Union High School, Rotary Club announce Students of the Month

Hartford, WI – The Hartford Rotary Club and Hartford Union High School are pleased to announce Aryan Kalluvila and Anna Pearce were honored recently as Rotary Students of the Month. The students were given special recognition for their accomplishments at the Hartford Rotary Club’s Thursday noon meetings during the month of September 2022.

Aryan Kalluvila is the son of Rachana and Thomas Kalluvila. Kalluvila is
President of the Model UN Club, President of the Debate Team, and Vice President of
DECA at HUHS. He is also a Varsity Horse Polo Player.

During his time at Hartford, Kalluvila participated in a Harvard University Research Internship on Low-Field MRI and a Yale University Research Internship on Brain Scan Bleeding Segmentation. He has done volunteer work at Dementia Care Facility and is a Vesta Memory Care Patient Ambassador and Co-Founder of an (unofficial) non-profit called Neuroscience Collective seeking to spread neuroscience education across Wisconsin and the United States.


Kalluvila received special recognition by placing 1st in the Chicago Brain Bee
Championships and 13th in the United States Brain Bee Championships. He placed 2nd
in the International Science and Engineering Fair for Biomedical Engineering and
received the Taiwan International Science Fair Award and traveled to Taiwan to present
his research.

Kalluvila was also a National History Day Finalist and a Top 20 DECA Business Plan recipient.

Kalluvila plans to attend college and pursue medical school. He is interested in
Neuroscience and Dementia patient care. His goal is to make a positive impact on the
world.


Anna Pearce is the daughter of Diane and Aaron Pearce. Pearce has participated in
DECA (9,10,11,12), Math Club (9,10,11,12), the Hartford Chronicle (11,12), the National
Honor Society (11,12), FBLA (9,10) and Math Team (9,10,11,12) at HUHS.

She has served as President of DECA (11,12), Editor of the Hartford Chronicle school
newspaper (11,12) and is an officer of the National Honor Society.

Pearce has served as the Wisconsin DECA District 5 Ambassador and on the
Wisconsin DECA Leadership Council (11,12). She was a DECA and FBLA State
Champion and was named to the International DECA Top 10 during her sophomore
year. Pearce placed 2nd at DECA State (9,11) and received 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place awards in various categories at the NEWSPA statewide newspaper competition.

She also has worked as a Broan Human Resource Intern (11,12) and has done over 100 hours of volunteer work at the Pauline Haass Public Library in the Children’s Department.

After graduation from HUHS, Pearce plans to attend a 4-year college to major in
accounting and then pursue her MBA.
