Hartford Rotary students of the month

The Hartford Rotary Club and Hartford Union High School are pleased to announce Amanda Lenser, Alex Mandel, and Ashley Woltmann were honored recently as Rotary Students of the Month. The students were given special recognition for their accomplishments at the Hartford Rotary Club’s Thursday noon meetings during the month of February.

Amanda Lenser is the daughter of Laura and Keith Lenser. Lenser has been active in co-curricular activities while attending Hartford Union High School. She has participated in girl’s tennis the past three seasons, is a member of the National Honor Society, and has been a member of the HUHS Student Council the past four years. Lenser has been on the high honor roll all four years of high school. Lenser has given back to her community by serving as a co-chair for the student council blood drives held at Hartford Union High School, volunteering at Enchantment in the Park, at the Special Olympics, and for the Alzheimer’s Walk. She is currently taking a certified Nursing Assistant Class at Moraine Park Technical College.

Lenser plans to attend UW-Eau Claire in the fall to pursue a career as a Nurse Practioner.

Alex Mandel is the son of Michele and Joel Mandel. Mandel has been active in co-curricular activities at Hartford. He has been a member of the boy’s cross-country team all four years, and has participated in track, Forensics, and the Spring Play. Mandel has been on the high honor roll every semester and is a member of the National Honor Society. Mandel had a great experience representing Hartford Union High School at Badger Boy’s State this past summer.

Mandel has given back to his community by doing volunteer work for the St. Kilian Religious Ed Program and the St. Kilian youth basketball tournament. He also serves as a tutor at the high school and has participated in the Pep Band and Marching Band all four years at HUHS. Mandel plans to attend Drake University in the fall to pursue a career as an Actuary.

Ashley Woltmann is the daughter of Kris and Darrell Woltmann. Woltmann has been active in co-curricular activities all four years at Hartford Union High School. She has been a member of the varsity girls’ soccer team and HUHS Student Council all four years. Woltmann has participated in FFA; girl’s swimming and is currently a member of the National Honor Society and the Math Team at Hartford. Woltmann enjoys studying Spanish and had the opportunity to travel to Guatemala, Belize, and Nicaragua through her Spanish classes.

Woltmann has given back to her community by volunteering her time at Enchantment in the Park and various HUHS Student Council projects. She has also served as a Girl Scout Camp Winding River Program aide, as a youth coach at the Hartford Girl’s Soccer Camp, and as a swim instructor and lifeguard for Special Olympics.

Woltmann plans to attend UW-La Crosse in the fall to major in Biology or Exercise Science and pursue a career in Physical Therapy.
