The district has now issued a statement:

Hartford Union High School District

Board of Education President,

Deb Reinbold, Resigns

HARTFORD, WI September 17, 2018 – Hartford Union High School (HUHS) Board of Education President, Deb Reinbold, has resigned her position as President and Board Member, effective end of day, Monday, September 17, 2018, prior to her three-year term ending in April 2019.  Deb has been on the Board of Education for 10 years, serving two years as President.  Reinbold has accepted a new job starting next week.

“Given the time that I will be dedicating to this new position and the important work that the Board will be undergoing this fall, I believe it is best that I step down and allow a new board member to be a part of the new foundation for the District,” commented Reinbold.

“Resigning was a very difficult decision.  I cherish the Hartford Community, parents, and students of Hartford Union High School.  I value the time I have spent on the School Board and will miss serving the District.  I fully support the current board members, and Tracy Hennes, who as Vice President, now assumes the role of President through April 2019.  I originally joined the Board of Education 10 years ago to be involved with the improvements in the District when my children were getting ready to attend the high school.  As my last child graduates in June, I feel my focus is redirected to my new job and my children’s future,” said Reinbold.

HUHS Superintendent, Attila J. Weninger, Ph.D., commented on Deb Reinbold’s departure, “Deb always had and continues to have the best interests of HUHS in mind.  I support her decision, thank her deeply for her service to our school and community over a ten year period, and wish her much success in her new professional endeavor.”

Tracy Hennes, Board of Education Vice-President, will fill the unexpired position of Board President through April 2019. “Deb has put a lot of time and energy into her duties as a school board member at HUHS for the last ten years. I am grateful for her work and her perspective on the board for such a long period of service to the community,” said Hennes.

Applications for the Board of Education vacancy created with Reinbold’s resignation will be accepted from Tuesday, Sept. 18 through Friday, Oct. 5, 2018.  Interested applicants must be a resident of the Hartford Union High School District; submit a signed and dated letter of interest identifying why they want to serve on the Board; and provide a brief, current resume. Information directed to the Superintendent’s Office by 4 p.m., Friday, Oct. 5, 2018.

Applicants will be interviewed by the Board of Education at a Special Meeting during early October.  The day, date, time of the meeting will be announced shortly.  The interviews and selection process will take place in Open Session.  Upon selection, the new Board member will take the oath of office and be sworn in, and will then be seated as an HUHS Board member to complete Reinbold’s term which expires April of 2019.
