Kewaskum High School seniors receive J.O. Reigle Scholarships

April 12, 2017 – Kewaskum, WI – Jacob Loehr and Hailey Herriges are the latest recipients of the J.O. Reigle Scholarships awarded annually by Regal Ware. The scholarship program was established in 1963 in honor of Regal Ware’s founder, the late J.O. Reigle.

 

The award recognizes the outstanding scholastic achievements of one or more graduating high school seniors in Kewaskum, and is designed to assist the recipients in their pursuit of a college education. To be eligible for the $18,000 J.O. Reigle Scholarship a student must have attended Kewaskum High School for at least the previous 2 years, and maintained at least a “B” average for the first 3½ years of high school.

 

Jacob, son of Bob and Kathy Loehr of Kewaskum, plans to attend UW-Madison to study Mechanical Engineering. Jacob has served in leadership roles in National Honor Society, Cross Country, Badger Boys’ State and 4-H. Other school activities include Basketball, Baseball, Golf, Show Choir, Academic Bowl and Trapshooting. His volunteer activities include participation in Catholic Heart Work Camp and tutoring middle school students. At the same time, he has been working as a bagger/stocker at Piggly Wiggly, a laborer at Paul’s Auction Company, and a baseball umpire for the Kewaskum Athletic Association. His leisure time interests include hunting, fishing, and playing cards.

 

Hailey is the daughter of James and Tina Herriges of Allenton. She will major in Physical Therapy at Carroll University. Hailey has served in leadership roles in National Honor Society, Student Government, Basketball and Soccer. She has also been active in KEY Club, Spanish Club, Yearbook Club and Freshman Mentors. Her volunteer activities include service at Kohlsville Fire Department,
Kewaskum Youth Basketball and St. Peter’s Church. Her hobbies include reading, camping, biking, basketball and spending time with family and friends.
