March 9, 2023 – Kewaskum, WI – The Kewaskum High School girls basketball team (22-5) went through one more walk-thru practice in the gym before boarding the bus and receiving a police escort as they made their way to the WIAA State tournament in Green Bay.

The Indians, a No. 3 seed, led by coach Mark Maley, will tip off at 3:30 p.m. against No. 2 West Salem (26-2) in Division 3 semifinal playoff action. Fans lined the street, many with big poster signs of well wishes and ‘Good Luck.’

The winner of today’s matchup between Kewaskum vs. West Salem will move on to play Friday against the winner of Game-1:  No. 1 Waupun (21-7) vs. No. 4 Milwaukee Academy of Science (22-3). That game tips at 1:35 p.m.

This is the team’s first trip to the WIAA State Tournament since 1982.
