Students at Kettle Moraine Lutheran H.S. make generous donation

12Days

On Wednesday, Jan. 6, the Dove and Olson families were invited to Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School to receive donations collected through KML’s 12 Days of Christmas fundraiser.

Erin Dove and daughters Lily and Bailey attended the presentation.  Due to health complications for mother Kim Olson, however, only KML student and daughter Hannah Olson represented the Olson family.

Numerous medical bills stand in front of both families, as Bailey Dove is currently going through treatments for leukemia, and Kim Olson is struggling with a rare type of brain cancer and is unable to work. Through the 12 Days fundraiser, KML hopes to alleviate some of the financial pressure.

A humbling statistic was revealed during the presentation: over $32,000 was raised this year, the most collected in the history of the fundraising event.  Each family was presented with a check by Pastor of Student Life Randy Hughes on behalf of the school.

Other than the money raised, KML’s Student Council also purchased Christmas gifts for the children of the families. The presents were personally delivered by Pastor Hughes and certain Student Council members on Dec. 23.

KML would like to thank its student body and those involved in the fundraising. Twelve Days of Christmas is a tradition the school hopes to continue for many years to come in order to reach out to families in need and share the love of Christ.
