Main Street in Hartford reopens following gas leak

 

Dec. 7, 2018 – Hartford, WI – A bit of s scary situation in downtown Hartford on Friday morning after the street was cordoned off from Hwy 60 north to E. Jackson Street.

A business owner reported the odor of gas and The Perk Place was evacuated just after 8 a.m. along with the apartments above.

Shop owners at Faith & Giggles said Iron Ridge Fire Department and West Bend were on scene along with We Energies.

As of 10 a.m. it appears the situation is under control and Main Street has reopened along with the businesses.

Amy Jahns with We Energies said an odor was reported. As of 10:30 a.m. We Energies crews are still on scene trying to determine the cause of the odor.

Outside emergency crews were called in because the Hartford Fire Department is on scene at a fire in the Town of Erin.

More details will be posted when information becomes available.
