Names released of victims in July 4 accident in neighboring Dodge County | Dale Schmidt

July 6, 2018 – Dodge County, WI – On July 4, 2018 at 2:32 PM the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash on State Hwy 16 east of Second Street Road in the Town of Emmet, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Preliminary investigation shows that Kyle N. Kuehl, 21, of rural Watertown, WI, was operating a 2002 Chevrolet on State Hwy 19.  Sarah M. Steger, 26, of San Francisco, CA, was also operating a 2015 Ford on State Hwy 19.  The vehicles were traveling in opposite directions but collided in a head-on manner.

The Dodge County Medical Examiner pronounced Kyle Kuehl dead at the scene.  Sarah Steger sustained serious injuries and was transported to Aurora Hospital in Summit.

Assisting at the scene were Watertown Fire and EMS, Watertown Police, Lebanon EMS, Dodge County Medical Examiner, Dodge County Emergency Response Team, and Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain.

The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team and the Dodge County Medical Examiner.
