Obit: Dennis J. Wilichowski, 66, of West Bend

 

Feb. 13, 2018 – West Bend, WI – Dennis J. Wilichowski, 66, of West Bend, passed away at home with his loving family by his side on Monday, February 12, 2018 after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

Dennis, also known as “Den-I”, was an avid fisherman and hunter.  He enjoyed spending time at the hunting cabin with his sons and friends and on any given day, you could find Dennis on one of his favorite lakes catching the “big one” with his boys.

He enjoyed the theater, music, sports, the outdoors, playing cards and a good old fashioned.  He was a dedicated member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in West Bend.   Dennis was funny, he loved to tease.  He had an enthusiastic sense of humor and enjoyed telling stories.  He enjoyed his family and watching his children and granddaughters grow.  He will be deeply missed.

Loving husband of Cheryl (nee Schuster) for 44 years. Dedicated and proud father of Mitchell (Melissa) Wilichowski, Amanda (Nick) Peters, Griffin Wilichowski and Spencer Wilichowski.  Adoring Papa to his five adorable granddaughters, Ramona, Harper, Haddie, Maura and Alexa.  Dear brother of Tom (Debbie), Mike (Karleen), Randal (Eileen) and Rick (Mary Beth); brother-in-law to Sue (Gary) Janes and Kay Schuster; and son-in-law to Emily Schuster.  Dennis is further survived by nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and other relatives and many, many friends.

Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen (nee Grimm) Wilichowski; his father, Alfred Wilichowski; and his father in law, Howard Schuster.

A celebration of Dennis’ life will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 6869 Wildwood Rd, West Bend, WI 53090. Dennis’ family will greet relatives and friends at the church from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Shepard of the Hills church are appreciated.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Froedtert Hospital, Kraemer Cancer Center, and Horizon Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Dennis.
