Obit: Edwin Weasler Sr., 84, West Bend

Edwin E. “Ed” Weasler Sr., 84, of West Bend, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at Kathy Hospice in the town of Polk.

Edwin was born on February 17, 1932, the son of the late Joseph and Polly (Warden) Weasler. On September 20, 1952, he was united in marriage to Shelby Bockorny in West Bend. Shelby preceded Ed in death on February 3, 2003. He was united in marriage to Janet Mandy on December 17, 2003, and a celebration of their wedding was held on June 26, 2004, in West Bend.

Ed enjoyed the outdoors, deer hunting and fishing. On the weekends he would get together with his brother and cousins to play guitar and sing country music. He was a proud lifelong resident of Washington County. Ed cherished his family. He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.

Ed is survived by three children, Edwin (Sandra) Weasler of Jackson, Ernest (Marion) Weasler of Omro and Sheila (Bill) Zilinsky of West Bend; six grandchildren, Susan, Cherie, Warren, Monica, Kevin and Tony; a great-granddaughter, Courtney; a brother, Dean Weasler and a sister, Lillian Kritz both of West Bend; further survived by a step son, Alan (Penny) Krings of Mountain; a step daughter, Kristine (John) Michalski of Milwaukee; six step grandchildren; eight step great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents and Shelby, Ed was preceded in death by five brothers and six sisters.

Ed’s family will greet relatives and friends at the Myrhum-Patten Funeral Home in West Bend on Sunday, March 6, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. followed by the memorial service which will begin 3:00 p.m.

The family would appreciate memorials to the American Cancer Society or to cancer research.
