Obit: Eugene Scherwinski, 71

Eugene Robert Scherwinski, age 71 of Slinger, Wisconsin entered peacefully into God’s loving arms on Thursday, January 14, 2016 in his home.

Eugene was born on February 3, 1944 to Emil and Clara (nee Hamman) Scherwinski. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran in Butternut, WI. Eugene was united in marriage to Barbara Zoesch on July 11, 1970 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Butternut.

Eugene served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He was a bricklayer for many years and was a member of the Masons Local #8. He was a member of Still Waters Church in Jackson, WI. Eugene enjoyed gardening, golfing, feeding the birds, going out to eat, but most of all he loved helping others and spending time with family and friends and attending his grandchildren’s activities.

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; children, Angela (Ray) Pantazon of Oconomowoc, Beth Resch (fiancé, Rick Mosbacher) of Appleton, and Melissa (Scott) Roberts of Fond du Lac; proud and loving papa to Mitchell and Jackson Resch, Alexander and Amelia Pantazon, and Evan and Brady Roberts; and his brothers, Howard (Judie), Jerome (Melvina), Glen (Joyce), Dennis (Mary), and Rodney (Marilyn) Scherwinski. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Eugene is preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services for Eugene will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union St. Hartford, WI 53027) with Pastor Renae Dymond officiating.  Family will greet relatives and friends at Shimon Funeral Home on Monday, January 18, 2016 from 10:00a.m.-12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial are appreciated.
