Obit: Former Campbellsport firefighter Alan Defatte Sr.

Alan David Defatte, Sr., 54, of Campbellsport died Monday, February 1, 2016 at his home. He was born on June 20, 1961, the son of John and Ella (VanVleet) Defatte. On September 22, 1979, Al married Traci Ann Murphy. She preceded him in death on July 3, 2001. On October 2, 2004, Al married Debra Cannestra.

 

He is survived by his children, Alan (fiancée Miranda Stahmann) Defatte Jr., Nicole (fiancée Charley Kuehnau) Defatte, Cory (Katie) Defatte, and Nathan (special friend Sami Arndt) Defatte, his step-daughter Gena (fiancée Jon Holthaus) Cannestra, his granddaughters Kira “baby cakes” and Athena “sweet cheeks”, his siblings Marty (Donna) Defatte, Paula Defatte, Ruth (Bob) Calder, Rita Plauske (Jerry Honore), Bob (Ruth) Defatte, Patty (Dan) Dieck, Evelyn (Jesse) Defatte-Singh, and Chris (Pat) Barrows, his faithful companion, Toby, many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

 

Along with his first wife Traci, he was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Tia Lynn, his brother Thomas and his sister Marilyn Defatte.

 

Alan was a mechanic for 30 years and operated ADD Auto, retiring in 2001.  He was a member of the Campbellsport Fire Department and also an EMT for over 20 years.  He was a “jack of all trades” assisting others with carpentry, plumbing and electrical needs.  He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting ducks, geese, deer, squirrel, coyotes to name a few and also enjoyed fishing.  Alan loved people but most of all he cherished the time he spent with his family, especially his 2 granddaughters.

 

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 4th at 6:00 pm at Twohig Funeral Home, 109 West Main Street, Campbellsport, with Rev. Jeff Blain officiating. Cremation will follow.

Visitation will be Thursday, Feb. 4th from 3:00 pm until time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Campbellsport Fire Department or to the family.
