Obit: Harold Kurth, 71, of Kohlsville

 

August 25, 2017 – Kohlsville, WI – Harold Kurth passed away after a short illness at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac on August 23, 2017.

He was born October 9, 1945 in West Bend, the only child of Myron and Aneita (Kluever).

Harold grew up around the Kewaskum and Kohlsville area attending Kewaskum High School. After high school he worked a short time at Danielson Manufacturing in West Bend after which he was employed at the West Bend Company for almost 37 years. He was a member of the 25-year club.

On November 14, 1970 he married Diane Wondra, the daughter of Lambert and Joyce Wondra of Campbellsport. They lived in Campbellsport for one year before moving to their present home near Kohlsville.

Over the years Harold helped area farmers. He started working on lawn mowers and small engines turning it into a small business. Harold and Diane also did lawn cutting turning it into a small business. Harold was never one to sit around. He was always on the go.

In his spare time he loved watching car racing and playing sheepshead.

Also, he enjoyed listening and dancing to polka music. During Germanfest in downtown West Bend he could be found there almost all three days.

Harold and Diane were always together. They would have been married 47 years this November.

Harold is survived by his wife Diane and 2 children: Lee (Wendy) and Annette and her love Everett “Skip” Betts. He is further survived by his grandchildren Emily, Maranda, Paige (fiancé Jordan) and Michael and his four legged friends, his cats.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 28, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Schmidt Funeral Home in West Bend. Burial will take place on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter’s Cemetery in the Township of Addison. The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 6:45 p.m. Memorials to Harold’s grandchildren are appreciated.

Harold had many friends and relatives that he held near and dear to his heart. He will be missed sadly. We all love you dearly.
