Obit: Janice L. Gibson (nee Hartung), 71, of West Bend

 

Sept. 13, 2018 – West Bend, WI – Janice L. Gibson (nee Hartung), 71, of West Bend found peace on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.

She was born on July 31, 1947 to the late Robert and Shirley (nee Freeman) Hartung in Milwaukee WI. She grew up in Milwaukee and graduated from Rufus King High School in 1965.

Janice graduated from Lutheran Hospital of Milwaukee School of Nursing, received her bachelor’s degree from Alverno College and her Master’s degree in Nursing from Marquette University in 1982.

Janice worked at many hospitals including Lutheran Hospital in Milwaukee, St Nicholas Hospital in Sheboygan, Aurora Medical Center in Grafton, and Columbia – St. Mary’s Hospital Milwaukee. She was a very dedicated nurse, always helping others in need to the best of her ability. She enjoyed cooking and baking. Janice loved reading true crime, murder mysteries, and biographies as well as collecting the finer things. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Those Janice leaves behind to cherish her memory include her two children, Mary (John) Ciesielczyk and Robert Gibson; three grandchildren, Jordan Ciesielczyk, Drew Ciesielczyk, and Kristopher Rinde; a sister, Vicky ( Steve) Pagac; a brother, Scott (Inga) Hartung; three nieces, Shirley (Robert) Ortwein, Angela Pagac, Jennifer Hartung; a nephew, Jeffery (Sarah) Hartung; other relatives and friends.

 

 

 

 

 

She is preceded in death by her parents.

A funeral service in remembrance of Janice will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at the Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Home, 1315 W. Washington St., West Bend.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.

The family would like to thank Jan’s good friends, Jean Marquardt and Jan Devoe-Reinoos for all their help and care.

Memorial to a charity of your choice in Janice’s name is appreciated by the family.

The Myrhum Patten Miller & Kietzer Funeral Homes have been entrusted with Janice’s arrangements.
