Obit: Robert J. Campbell, 86, Rubicon

Robert James Campbell, age 86, of Rubicon, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Angels Grace Hospice surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on May 29, 1930 in Hartford, WI to James and Mabel (nee Craig) Campbell.  He was united in marriage to Harriet Nelson on October 28, 1956 at St. Paul’s Church in Ashippun, WI.

Robert was a dairy farmer all of his life.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, he loved growing his crops, gardening, and loved his dog and most of all his family and friends.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Harriet, children Beth (Reed) Schneider, Jim (Kathy) Campbell, and Mark (Karen) Campbell; Six grandchildren, Alex, Jackson, Andrew (Courtney) Benjamin, Margaret and Robert; sisters Anita Roemer of Hartford and Joan (John) Smith of Madison, WI. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Elizabeth (John) Hallowell, brother-in-law Wilbert Roemer.

Memorial services for Robert will be held on Monday, October 3, 2016 at 4:30 p.m. at St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church  (670 E. Monroe Ave Hartford, WI 53027) with Fr. James Kaestner and Deacon Lars Skoglund officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the church from  2:30 – 4:30 p.m.

Inurnment at St. Paul’s cemetery in Ashippun, WI
