Obit: Wesley E. Forbes, 86, West Bend

Wesley E. Forbes, 86, of West Bend, was called home to be with his Lord on Friday, September 23, 2016, at Cedar Lake Home Health & Rehab in the town of West Bend.

Wesley was born on August 17, 1930, in Milwaukee, the son of the late Marzelus “Jack” and Esther (nee Abshagen) Forbes.  On April 28, 1956, he was united in marriage to Grace Raabe at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Milwaukee.  Grace preceded Wesley in death on November 11, 2015.

Wesley was an outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting and fishing as much as possible.  He was an avid Packers Fan, sports fan enthusiast and loved owning dogs.  Wesley owned and operated his own business for many years, “Jack Forbes and Son Roofing” which was originally started by his father.  He was also a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church in New Fane.

Those Wesley leaves behind to cherish his memory include three children, Jeffrey (Karen) Forbes of Niagara, Gregory Forbes of Brookfield and Terri (Scott) Walters of Ixonia; seven grandchildren, Mary (Jeff) Henderson, Sarah (Weston) Gill, Matthew Forbes, Rachel Forbes, Amber (Rob) Lorge, Kyle and Keith Walters; three great-grandchildren, Jase and Riley Henderson and MaKenna Lorge, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents and wife, Wesley was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Forbes.

Funeral Services for Wesley will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2016, at St. John Lutheran Church in New Fane.  Rev. Mark Eckert will officiate and inurnment will take place on Saturday, October 1, 2016.

The Forbes family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. John Lutheran Church are appreciated.
