Obituary | Bernice ‘Ben’ Brehmer, 91, of West Bend

May 14, 2019 – West Bend, WI – Bernice “Ben” N. Brehmer (nee Schultz), 91, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at Samaritan Health Care Center of West Bend.

She was born on May 10, 1928 to Samuel and Nettie (nee Barndt) Schultz. Bernice married the late Frank Brehmer in September of 1948. She later married Lawrence Brehmer on January 7, 1950. Together they farmed in Mequon for 30 years and later farmed in West Bend for 31 years. She enjoyed her animals, gardening and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid baseball fan. She was a lifetime member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Bernice is survived by her children, Kenneth (Patricia), Beverly (Alan) Truelove, and Warren (Marie); 9 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Bernice is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Frank, second husband Lawrence, a grandson and 6 siblings.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Salem Ev. Lutheran Church, 6840 N 107th St., Milwaukee with Pastor Jeremy Wosje presiding. The visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Interment will follow at West Granville Cemetery in Milwaukee. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the church would be appreciated.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of The Fields, Samaritan Health Care and St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend for their compassionate care.
