Obituary | Michael A. Reynolds, 75, of Hartford

April 22, 2019 – Hartford, WI – Michael A. Reynolds (“Papa Smurf”, “Mike”), 75, of Hartford, Wisconsin passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019 at home with his wife and children at his side.

Michael was born in La Crosse, WI on August 3, 1943 to Jean Reynolds and Billie Greene. He was united in marriage to Jeanne Seielstad on August 20, 1966 at St. James Catholic Church in La Crosse, WI.

Michael loved his movies and music from opera to rock. After retiring from Slinger Manufacturing, Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Michael is survived by his wife, Jeanne; loving children, Angela (George) Reynolds-Klick, Elizabeth (Brian) Otte of Hartford, Michael (Karen) Reynolds of Fond du lac, WI and Philip (Tiffany) Reynolds of Rochester, MN; grandchildren, Desiree Reynolds, Brittany Klick, Douglas (Neil), Dalton (Amanda), and Dakota Otte, Ethan (Hailey) and Garet (Jade) Reynolds, Amie (Scott) Kocos, Amaya, Aidan, and Damien Reynolds, and Milo Ybarra; great-grandchildren, Lyric, Meladii, and Harmonii Reynolds, Adalyn Kocos, and expected baby due in October 2019; siblings, Kathy (Cal) Wilcox, Valerie Newman, Becky Brodell, Sarah (Scott) Tran, James (Judy) Reynolds, Francis (Judy) Anderson and Patrick Anderson; sisters/ brothers-in-law, Sue Seielstad, Laura Seielstad, Paul (Barbara) Seielstad, and Peter (Virginia) Seielstad. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jean Anderson and Bille Greene; grandparents, Fredrick and Hilda Reynolds; and parents-in-law, Elmer and Mary Seielstad.

A Memorial Service for Mike will be held Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 3:30 p.m at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union Street Hartford, WI 53027). with Fr. David LaPlante officiating. Family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. -3:15 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Mike’s family are appreciated in the care of Jeanne Reynolds.

The Reynolds Family would like to give special thanks to Mike’s sisters, Kathy and Val as well as Jamie from Compassionate Care and their team.
