Obituary | Nickolas R. Klink, 72, of Hartford

March 5, 2019 – Hartford, WI – Nickolas R. Klink, “Nick,” 72, of Hartford passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 5, 2019.

Military obituary

Nick was born December 8, 1946 in Hartford to Agnes (nee Hanrahan) and Hubert Klink and grew up in Rubicon, WI. He served our country in the United States Air Force from 1966-1970 and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was united in marriage to Janet G. Priesgen on January 13, 1973.

Nick worked for Richard A. Wolter and in 1980 went on to work for the City of Hartford in the public works department, retiring in July 2005. Nick loved carpentry and could always be found fixing something or working on a new project. He will be remembered fondly of his willingness to help anyone out and was a friend to many. His smile, laugh, and great sense of humor will be incredibly missed.

Nick is survived by his loving beloved wife, Janet; his 2 beautiful daughters, Michelle (Brian) Koenig of Oak Creek and Marcia Klink of NV; dear siblings, Mary (Wally) Kletti of AR and Ronald (Julie) Klink of AZ; dear siblings-in-law, Darlene (Dale) Grinwald, Gerald “Butch” (Betty), Eugene Jr. (friend, Cindy) Priesgen all of Rubicon, and Jeffery Priesgen of Hartford; cherished dogs, Marlie and Gustie and grand-dogs, Ben and Poppy. He is further survived by many loved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Agnes and Hubert; brothers, Hubert “Bert” and David (Ruth) Klink; parents-in-law, Eugene (Vanilda) Priesgen; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Priesgen.

A memorial service with military honors for Nick will be held at the Shimon Funeral Home. **Please check back Wednesday, March 6, 2019 for confirmed service date, times, and details.*

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Nick’s name to Interfaith Caregivers of Washington County (2374A W. Washington Street West Bend, WI 53095), St. Kilian Catholic Church (428 Forest Street Hartford, WI 53027), or to the Washington County Humane Society (WCHS, 3650 State Road 60, Slinger WI 53086, Attn: Chris Fleischmann) are greatly appreciated.

Nick’s family would like to share their sincere appreciation to: Interfaith Caregivers and their wonderful services aiding in Nick’s transports, Dr. Rebecca Stormont and her awesome care of Nick, Fr. David LaPlante for his continuous support and concern, and to all their family and friends who have been there for Nick and his family.
