Public Engagement opportunity to draft Countywide Bike and Pedestrian Network

Bike riding on the Eisenbahn State Trail

Nov. 8, 2018 – Washington Co., WI – Washington County has drafted a preliminary countywide Bike and Pedestrian network in an effort to increase opportunities for non-motorized vehicle transportation.

The recommended network strives to connect Washington County communities, employment centers, points of interest and major recreational areas. In addition, the draft network seeks to connect Washington County with communities and existing trails in neighboring counties such as the Bugline Trail in Waukesha County and the Interurban Trail in Ozaukee County.

As part of an ongoing effort to gain public input, Washington County will hold five “Meetings in a Box” sessions at various events and locations throughout the month of November.

The goal of each “Meeting in a Box” is to solicit feedback on the recommended bicycle and pedestrian network and the project prioritization. The input of the public, stakeholder groups, and municipalities in Washington County is critical to the success of this project.
