Slinger School District survey results

June 25, 2020 – Slinger, WI – This week the Slinger School District revealed the data collected in its recent survey regarding what the school year should look like in the fall. There was an amazing response rate and the highlight from the survey included a strong desire from parents to get the kids back to school in person and whether masks are involved … all the answers are below.
The post starts with a letter sent to parents by Superintendent Daren Sievers.
Good morning-
The survey closed on Tuesday at 5 pm.   We had a 65% participation rate (1945 replies out of 2970 email addresses).  This certainly speaks to our parents’ investment in us and their valuing the job you do for them and their children.
Below is a summary report of the findings, an excel document that breaks the results out by grade level, and I have also included  the DPI “Return to School” guidance.  Please understand, this document needs to cover the circumstances from Kenosha and MPS to Ashland and Door County.  It is LONG on ideas and SHORT on specific recommendations.
On Monday we have a committee of administration, bus company leadership, food service leadership, and teachers taking the DPI guidance, survey results, and health department guidance and turning all of that info into a plan for returning to school as safely as possible.
We will report our early recommendations to the School Board in a special session on July 8 at 6 p.m. with a target date of laying out our full intentions on August 3
I will stay in touch the best I can.  I hope you all are great.
