VIDEO | Former Milw. Brewer Willie Mueller discusses keys to tonight’s Brewers vs. Dodgers matchup

Oct. 12, 2018 – West Bend, WI – Former major leaguer Willie Mueller sat down for a chat and offered some key insight to the National League Playoff game this evening as the Brewers host the Dodgers in Game One of the N.L. series.

Mueller, 62, was a pitcher for the Brewers from 1978 – 1983.

He said the team is coming off a spectacular game against Colorado and that’s going to be tough to repeat. “They’re not going to get pitching like they did against the Rockies but hopefully they can hit better and push runs across when they need them,” he said.

The camaraderie, according to Mueller, is one of the keys for this Milwaukee team. “The free agency and having a player coming in for one or two years isn’t good for anybody,” Mueller said. “Counsell is the coach that can take this team all the way. He’s very in tune with his ballplayers and he knows their strengths.”

Mueller went old school when asked, if possible, who would he like to bring back from the 1982 team.

If the Brewers win tonight that will mean they would have won 12 games in a row and according to tradition Wisconsin-based George Webb restaurants will give away free hamburgers.

The clerk at the Webbs in West Bend said the giveaway won’t be immediate as Webbs will have to put in orders and get organized.  If the Crew wins the Webbs event will probably be held a week from today.  Stay tuned!
