Winter storm warning in effect starting at 2 p.m. Forecasters say snow totals could be on the rise

Dec. 16, 2016 – Washington Co., WI – Winter storm warning goes into effect at 2 p.m. Here’s this morning’s look at radar, courtesy accuweather.com.  Potential snow totals have increased and we’re looking the possibility of 7 to 11 inches of snow.
A WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM THIS AFTERNOON
TO 9 PM CST SATURDAY.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS…10 TO 12 INCHES TODAY THROUGH SATURDAY.
EXPECT THE HEAVIEST SNOW LATE THIS AFTERNOON INTO THE EVENING.
ANOTHER ROUND OF HEAVIER SNOW IS EXPECTED FROM MID SATURDAY
MORNING THROUGH THE LATE AFTERNOON.

* SIGNIFICANT REDUCTIONS IN VISIBILITY ARE EXPECTED AT TIMES.
GUSTY NORTHWEST WINDS ON SATURDAY WILL CAUSE BLOWING AND
DRIFTING SNOW.

* IMPACTS…HAZARDOUS TRAVEL DUE TO SNOW COVERED ROADS ARE
EXPECTED THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH SATURDAY NIGHT. THIS WILL IMPACT
THIS AFTERNOON COMMUTE AND TRAVEL PLANS THIS EVENING THROUGH
SATURDAY NIGHT.

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF
SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. IF YOU MUST
TRAVEL…KEEP AN EXTRA FLASHLIGHT… FOOD…AND WATER IN YOUR
VEHICLE IN CASE OF AN EMERGENCY.
