West Bend, Wi – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) is proud to announce the fifth annual AVCA Best and Brightest Awards for Girls High School Senior student-athletes. Three members of the West Bend West girls volleyball team have secured the award meant to honor individual high school Senior student-athletes who excel on and off the court.

To be eligible for the Best and Brightest Award, Senior student-athletes must have earned at least a 3.5 Unweighted GPA on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent, if using a different GPA scale) during their junior year AND play in 50% of their varsity team’s sets during their senior season.
This year 1489 Student Athletes have earned this honor and have been selected to First, Second and Third teams based on their academic and athletic achievements.
Morgan Winkler was selected to the First Team. She has earned above a 3.9 GPA and a starting setter on this year’s team. During her tenure on the team, Morgan had 411 kills, serving at 95% with 70 ace serves, 415 digs and 651 assists out of 2083 attempts. In the Glacier Trails Conference Morgan is ranked 3rd in Assists, 4th in Digs, and 9th in Ace Serves.
