August 16, 2025 – Fond du Lac Co., WI – On Saturday, August 16, 2025, at approximately 3:02 a.m., the Fond du Lac County Communications Center received information that Kaukauna Police Department had been in a pursuit of a vehicle southbound on I-41 from Wisconsin Ave.
The original traffic stop had been for a speed violation. As Kaukauna Police were pursuing the suspect vehicle it increased its speed and began swerving as well. After Stop Sticks tire deflation devices were attempted and unsuccessful, the pursuit was terminated.
A Winnebago County Deputy located the suspect vehicle continuing southbound on I-41. Prior to the Fond du Lac County line the Winnebago County Deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, which again failed to yield to emergency lights and siren. Winnebago County terminated their attempt to stop the vehicle.
Fond du Lac County Deputies were receiving regular updates from the Communications Center and were positioned on Interstate 41. A Fond du Lac County Deputy located the vehicle at the Winnebago County line and activated his emergency lights and siren.
The suspect vehicle failed to yield to the Deputy and increased its speed initiating a third pursuit. The suspect vehicle was operating at a high rate of speed and weaving in both lanes.
Another Fond du Lac County Deputy was able to successfully deploy Stop Stick tire deflation devices on I-41 at Korth Rd, deflating four tires. The suspect vehicle eventually stopped just south of CTH N.
The driver, a 35-year-old male from Kaukauna, Wisconsin, was taken into custody without further incident. The driver was arrested for felony fleeing and eluding, reckless driving, and suspicion of operating while impaired. The driver was transported to the Fond du Lac County Jail.
The Fond du Lac County pursuit lasted approximately 2.7 miles. No civilians or officers were injured. The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Wisconsin State Patrol, North Fond du Lac Police Department, and Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office.
