Hartford Rotary September Students of the Month | By Ron Schlitt

Hartford, Wi – The Hartford Rotary Club and Hartford Union High School announce Asamina Villalobos and Brady Walters were honored recently as Rotary Students of the Month.

The students were given special recognition for their accomplishments at the Hartford Rotary Club’s Thursday noon meetings during the month of September.

Asamina Villalobos is the daughter of Tara and Jason Villalobos. Villalobos has been active at HUHS in Girls Swimming, Track and Field, H-Club, Math Club, Math Team, Environmental Club, National Honor Society and the Menomonee Falls Dolphinettes Artistic Swimming program. She received the Spade award from the National Honor Society for having the highest GPA in her class.

This school year Villalobos will be interning at the Medical College of Wisconsin doing biomedical research through the SUPREMES Program, which is sponsored by Marquette University. She will be working toward her Girl Scout Gold Award by building a prayer garden at her church. Villalobos will also represent the North Zone at the National Convention for Artistic Swimming.

Villalobos has given back to her community by volunteering at the following events: Lions Club Chicken Roast, Global Fest, HUHS Parent Teacher Conferences, Rotary Club Prairie Installation, HUHS Showcase, HUHS Middle School Math Meet, Shamrock Shuffle, Salvation Army Bell Ringing, Gehl Food Company Picnic, HUHS Transfer Student Orientation, and HUHS Concessions at sporting events.

Villalobos wants to become an anesthesiologist after graduation from HUHS. She plans to attend college to pursue a major in biochemistry and later go on to medical school.

Brady Walters is the son of Jeff and Beth Hughes-Walters. Walters is a three-sport athlete at HUHS earning varsity letters in soccer, basketball and baseball. He is a member of the H-Club and National Honor Society. Walters received the National Honor Society Key award during his junior year.

Walters has given back to the community by coaching youth basketball and baseball at Hartford’s youth camps during the summer. He has also volunteered his time at several charity runs including the Pink Pumpkin Run, the Shamrock Shuffle, and Logan’s Laps for Love.

Walters has also worked H-Club concessions for varsity football and softball sporting events.

After high school, Walters plans to pursue a degree in Business Analytics or Data Science.
