Obituary | Earl Walter Fehring, 89, of Allenton, WI

January 11, 2026Allenton, WI – Earl Walter Fehring, of Allenton, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026 at the age of 89.

He was born on February 12, 1936, to the late Walter and Viole (nee Gundrum) Fehring and grew up on the family farm in the Town of Herman.

On October 16, 1965, Earl married Elaine Becker at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newburg. They built their house and stayed in the Allenton area.

Earl took great pride and joy in his farm and perfectly kept yard. He was employed at Gehl Company in West Bend for over 40 years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Gehl Hexelbank 25 Year Club. Earl and Elaine enjoyed visiting the Amish country shops and beautifying their farmyard with flowers, especially geraniums.

Survivors include one brother Jerome (Nancy) Fehring of Hartford, sister-in-law Darlene Hefter of Nenno and one brother-in-law Gerald (Kathy) Becker of Newburg; five Godchildren, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Earl is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 59 years Elaine; his parents, sisters Mary Ann (Richard) Schellinger, Janice (Virgil) Weninger, in-laws Lawrence and Helen Becker; brother-in-law Ray Hefter and other nieces and nephews.

Due to construction/remodeling at Resurrection Catholic Church, visitation will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Slinger on Saturday, January 17 from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. Entombment will be held on Monday, January 19 at 10 a.m. at Washington County Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial to Resurrection Catholic Church in Earl’s memory will be appreciated.
