Slinger, Wi – Slinger High School has five new inductees into its Athletic Hall of Fame this year. The induction ceremony will be held on Friday February 20 at halftime of the Slinger Boys Varsity Basketball game against Grafton. The five inductees include Coach Steven Reinhardt and four Slinger athletes: Gerry Lofy (1981), Taylor (Blazei) Bosheers (2012), Jason Erdmann (2015), and Derek Sabin (2018).
Coach Steven Reinhardt started his coaching and teaching career at Slinger High School in 1989, where he taught Physical Education, and coached Football, Boys Basketball and Track. In 1992 Coach Reinhardt, became the Girls Head Basketball coach.

During the next 18 seasons, the girls program became one of the best in the area. In his 18-year career at Slinger, he won 8 conference championships with 7 straight Parkland Conference championships from 1997-1998 through the 2003-2004 season, and the 2007-2008 Wisconsin Little Ten Conference championship.
The program won 5 WIAA Regional titles and the 2001 WIAA Sectional title. The 2001 team was WIAA Division 2 State Runner-Ups losing to Green Bay Notre Dame 43-56 in the championship game. His all-time coaching record at Slinger was 287-120 in 18 seasons, including a single season school record 22 wins in 2001.
Gerry Lofy (1981) was one of the finest multi-sport athletes to play for Slinger High School from the 1970s through the 1990s. While many athletes have excelled in two sports, Gerry was a standout in all three sports that he played.

He lettered a total of nine times (3 in football, 2 in basketball, and 4 in baseball). He is one of only two men to have been named team MVP in THREE different sports in the same year during his high school career (based upon available information back into the 1950s), which he accomplished his senior season of 1980 – 81.
During that year, he was MVP in football, basketball, and baseball. It is likely an achievement that may never be matched again with the sports specialization avenue that most athletes follow today. During his career, he achieved 1st team all-conference honors in baseball, and he received honorable mention all-conference honors in basketball during both his junior and senior season in a conference that then included much larger schools than Slinger such as Hartland Arrowhead and Germantown.
Taylor (Blazei) Bosheers (2012) earned 10 varsity letters – four in Cross Country, four in Soccer, and two in Basketball – during her Slinger HS athletic career. In Cross Country, Taylor excelled immediately.

During her Freshman season, she advanced to the State Tournament as an individual by winning the Sectional meet. Taylor finished 16th at the state tournament that year. During her Junior season, Taylor again advanced to the Division 1 State Tournament as an individual. That year she improved her standing with an 11th place finish.
Her Senior year, she ran the Sectional race with a badly injured leg, finishing in a position to earn the team enough points to advance to the State Tournament for the first time in 23 years! Because of the injury, she finished her Senior year as a spectator at the State Tournament supporting her teammates.
Taylor’s true passion lied in soccer, where she also excelled immediately and was an integral part of leading the team to three consecutive Wisconsin Little Ten Conference championships (in 2009, 2010, and 2011). During her junior year in 2011 she earned 2nd team All-Conference honors, and during her senior year she earned 1st team All-Conference honors. Her abilities and her play earned her a full scholarship to play Division 1 soccer at Tennessee Tech.
Jason Erdmann (2015) earned nine varsity letters – four in football, three in Track & Field, and two in Basketball – during his Slinger HS athletic career.

As a four-year varsity starter in football, Jason made an immediate impact from his freshman year, setting a standard of excellence that elevated the entire program. His dominance on the offensive and defensive lines earned him First Team All-Conference honors on BOTH sides of the ball as a junior and senior—a rare and remarkable achievement.
In 2014, Jason was recognized as the Wisconsin Little Ten Lineman of the Year, named All-Region Defensive Lineman, and honored as a First Team All-State Offensive Lineman, cementing his place among the state’s elite players. Jason’s athleticism extended beyond football. In basketball, he lettered both his junior and senior years and was a significant contributor as the sixth man to a team that advanced to the Sectional Final his senior year, falling one game short of advancing to the State Tournament.
Jason also participated in both shot put and discus for the Track team. After graduation, Jason continued to represent Slinger with pride at the University of Wisconsin. He participated in 53 games over his four years with the Badgers and started at right guard for the Badgers during his entire senior season.
Derek Sabin (2018) was one of the more accomplished student athletes to represent Slinger High School. He was a four-year varsity letter winner in basketball and added a letter in baseball his senior year.

Derek established himself early as a cornerstone of the basketball program, helping Slinger to a sectional final as a freshman. As a sophomore, he averaged a double-double and earned All-Conference Honorable Mention. By his junior year, he elevated to First-Team All-Conference, served as team captain and MVP, and was recognized on the WBCA Class of 2018 Top Prospect list.
His senior season he repeated as First team All-Conference, team captain and MVP, averaging 20 points and 11 rebounds, while also earning AP All-State Honorable Mention, WBCA Division II All-State, WBCA Academic All-State, First-Team All North Shore Conference, and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel All-Area.
He is one of only three Slinger boys’ basketball players to score over 1000 points during their careers. Derek played varsity baseball his senior year, where he earned all-conference honors and was named Offensive MVP after playing his first baseball season since 8th grade. After high school, he earned a Division I basketball scholarship to Belmont University where he contributed to multiple Ohio Valley Conference championships, earned two NCAA Tournament berths, and one NIT appearance.
Congratulations to all the 2026 SHS Athletic Hall of Fame inductees.
A reception will follow in the Slinger HS cafeteria that will start during the second half of the game and will run until about 30 minutes after the game ends. The reception is open to the public.
