The journey from Ozaukee Christian to FaithRidge Christian School | By Chris Bergstresser

June 16, 2026Town of Trenton, WiOzaukee Christian School in the Town of Trenton, Wi, is prepping for its next transformation. On July 1, 2026, a new season begins for FaithRidge Christian School. Executive Director Chris Bergstresser has more details below.

Dear Friends and Family of OCS,

This newsletter carries a weight that is both tender and joyful. For 36 years, the name Ozaukee Christian School has represented far more than a place of learning. It has represented a testimony — one written by God’s own hand. It has stood for perseverance, for prayer, for community, and for the unmistakable truth that when God calls His people to step out in faith, He also provides the path beneath their feet.

When OCS began, it was nothing more than a vision held by four individuals who believed that Christian education mattered deeply. They had no building, no campus, no certainty — only faith. And yet, as Hebrews reminds us, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” That verse could be written across every chapter of our school’s history.

From those early days in church basements in Port Washington, to a larger facility in Saukville, to our years in Trenton, and now to our new home in West Bend, God has been leading us step by step. Never quickly. Rarely with ease. But always faithfully.

The journey of OCS has resembled the very path Jesus describes in Matthew 7:14 — “the narrow road,” the one that is winding and sometimes steep, the one that requires trust, courage, and perseverance. And yet, it is the road that leads to life. It is the road that leads us closer to Christ. It is the road that glorifies Him.

As we stand at this moment in our story, we recognize that God is inviting us into a new season — one that honors every step we have taken while preparing us for the steps yet ahead. With prayerful hearts and deep gratitude for our heritage, we are embracing a new name: FaithRidge Christian School.

This name is not a departure from who we are. It is a reflection of who we have always been.

Faith has been our foundation from the beginning.
It was faith that launched OCS.
Faith that sustained OCS through lean years.
Faith that carried OCS through moves, transitions, and challenges.
Faith that united families, teachers, and supporters around a shared mission at OCS.
Faith that reminded us that OCS has never belonged to us — it has always belonged to God.

And Ridge speaks to the path God has led us on.

A ridge is elevated. It offers perspective. It is a place where you can look back and see where you’ve been, and look forward and see where God is leading. But a ridge is also rugged. It is narrow. It requires careful steps. It demands trust.
OCS’s story has been exactly that — a faithful walk along a ridge that God Himself carved out for us. A path that has been winding, narrow, and at times difficult, yet always guided by His hand. A path that has shaped us, strengthened us, and prepared us for the ministry ahead.

FaithRidge Christian School is a name that captures both our heritage and our calling. It honors the faith that built OCS and the ridge‑like journey that has defined it. It reminds us that we are a people who walk by faith, not by sight, and that every step we take is meant to point students, families, and our community toward Christ.

As we move forward, we do so with hearts full of gratitude — for the founders who believed, for the families who stayed, for the teachers who poured themselves out, and for the countless ways God has shown Himself faithful. We also move forward with anticipation, trusting that “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion” (Philippians 1:6).

Thank you for walking this ridge with us. Thank you for your prayers, your support, your encouragement, and your steadfast belief in the mission of Christian education. The name may be changing, but the heart of this school remains the same: rooted in Christ, committed to truth, and dedicated to raising up young people who will shine His light wherever He leads them.

In His Grace,
Chris Bergstresser, Executive Director
