July 12, 2026Town of Trenton, WI – On Sunday, July 12, 2026, at 12:43 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a house fire, at 2071 Paradise Drive in the Town of Trenton, Washington County. Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies, Newburg Fire Department, and the West Bend Fire Department responded to the scene.

Property loss management

The fire was mostly contained to the garage. Fire entered the attic area causing roof and soffit damage. The interior of the home sustained smoke and water damage. Estimated damage is approximately $300,000.

The residence is a single-family ranch home. The tenant of the residence called 911 and advised there was a fire in the garage. The female tenant stated her dog barked and she heard a loud explosion. She then discovered the garage was on fire.

The family of five were able to gather some belongings, two cats and a dog then exited the house safely. Three cats remained in the basement.

Paradise Drive between Maple Road and S. Oak Road was shut down for approximately 2.5 hours for fire apparatus.

The Newburg Fire Department was assisted by the following departments, West Bend Fire, Slinger Fire, Boltonville Fire, Jackson Fire, Kewaskum Fire, Kewaskum Fire, Allenton Fire, Port Washington Fire, Central Ozaukee Fire, Fillmore Fire, Cedarburg Fire, Hartford Fire, Fredonia Fire, Waubeka Ambulance, and Lifestar Ambulance. WE Energies assisted fire personnel on scene. The American Red Cross was contacted for the family as well.

One firefighter suffered a heat-related illness during fire suppression efforts. The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
